St George’s Nursery and Pre-School provide the perfect environment for children aged 2–4 to take their first and most important steps on their learning journey. At the heart of our Nursery is our Walled Garden, where children climb, ride, dig and spark their imagination, developing confidence, coordination, and an understanding of the natural world. Inside, play-based activities are carefully designed around the children’s abilities and interests, promoting curiosity, problem-solving, and social development.
The Nursery is bright, welcoming and thoughtfully organised, with dedicated areas for each age group and a continuously evolving range of activities that inspire imagination and independent learning.
Beyond the Walled Garden, children enjoy access to St George’s stunning 35-acre site. Guided by Forest School trained teachers, our youngest pupils explore the wider grounds and woodland areas, discovering more about plants, wildlife and the changing seasons. These outdoor adventures, combined with creative indoor experiences, ensure that every day is full of activity, discovery and fun.

Our award-winning Early Years team are highly experienced in nurturing children and making the transition into a nursery routine easy, enjoyable and full of fun. St George’s Nursery is structured to support the natural progression of learning: children aged 2–3 attend Nursery, while those aged 3–4 move into Pre-School. Attendance in Pre-School guarantees a seamless transition into St George’s Prep Reception class, providing continuity and confidence as children progress into the next stage of their education.
