Our House System

Our House system is at the heart of life at St George’s, fostering a strong sense of belonging, teamwork and pride across the school. From the moment they join St George's, every child is welcomed into one of our four Houses: St George’s, St Patrick’s, St David’s, or St Andrew’s. They wear their House badge with pride, representing not just a group, but a shared identity and community spirit.

Throughout the year, pupils take part in a wide range of House activities designed to engage, inspire and challenge them, as well as have lots of fun. These include special celebrations to mark the feast days of our Patron Saints and charity fundraising days, bringing each House together in recognition of its heritage and values.

House Points are awarded regularly for effort, achievement and positive contributions to school life. Each week, our top scorers are recognised and celebrated in our Celebration Assembly, reinforcing a culture of encouragement and achievement.

Form VI.6
C-SGS-20-10051

As pupils progress to Form VI, they are given the opportunity to take on greater responsibility by becoming House Captains. This role plays an important part in student leadership and student voice, empowering pupils to represent their peers and help shape the House experience.

Our House system is both extensive and inclusive, offering something for everyone. While sporting competitions remain a key feature, we also provide a rich variety of opportunities in areas such as baking, photography, poetry, music and art. This ensures that every child can contribute their talents and feel valued within their House.

Above all, we celebrate our pupils’ efforts, both in and out of the classroom, on a weekly basis, recognising not only success but also commitment, creativity and collaboration.
